Wood, stone, and steel anchor a family company in the landscape.

Corporate Office Tenant Improvement
 2016-2017 | with Mithun

This project brings a diverse family of companies into a shared workplace defined by clarity, material presence, and connection to place.

Organized around a central stair and a carved totem of Alaskan yellow cedar, the space is structured as a continuous, vertically connected environment. The totem serves as both cultural artifact and spatial anchor, grounding the project within the history of the Pacific Northwest.

Workspaces are arranged to support a range of uses—open, enclosed, and informal—without relying on hierarchy or excess. Instead, the architecture is shaped through proportion, light, and material continuity.

A restrained palette of wood and natural finishes establishes warmth and coherence, while framing expansive views to Elliott Bay, the working waterfront, and the Olympic Mountains. The company’s art collection is integrated throughout, reinforcing identity without overwhelming the architecture.

The result is a workplace that is both flexible and specific—rooted in context, and designed to endure.
